Bumaya Uya-uy Dance
Bumaya Uya-uy is a native dance of Ifugao tribe from Mountain
Province of Cordillera in Northern part of Luzon.
Bumaya uya-uy is performing by set of men and women during tribal
celebrations. The Bumaya uya-uy is a thanks giving dance prayer
offered to the Igorot’s Supreme Deity named Kabunian, for the
abundant harvest of rice. The dance steps of Bumaya uya-uy are
adapted from the movements of the rooster scratching the ground.
