General Maximino H. Hizon

According to our current information, Hen. Maximino  Hizon is shown at three places. Ones in front of the Capitol in Pampanga Ones included into the monument in front of the “Head-quarters Philippine Army” Manila Together with: Gat Andres Bonifacio (Manila) Hen. Emilio Aguinaldo (Cavite) Hen. Paciano Rizal (Laguna) Hen. Gregorio Del Pilar (Bulacan) Hen. Mariano Llanera (Nueva Ecija)  Hen. Miguel Malvar (Batangas) Hen Francisco Makabulos (Tarlac). And ones in a Village in Pampanga (which we will visit soon). The memorial plaque in front of Pampanga’s Capitol, written in the old Tagalog term, can be translated as follows (deviations are not excluded): Maximino H. Hizon is General of the uprising, council of the Malolos Congress and a patriot. He was born on May 9, 1870 in Parian, Mexico, Pampanga. He joined the Katipunan 1896. He was arrested and exile in Jolo when their underground movement was discovered on Augost 19, 1896. He was released after the signing of the Agreement in Biak-na-Bato. He was declared as the Commander General of Pampanga in 1898. He was appointed as the representative of the Province of Sorsogon during the Malolos Congress.  He was known during the bloody encounter in Caloocan on February 23, 1899 and not only with his fight for the Americans troops but also in Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac and Pangasinan. He got wounded from a fight near Porac on January 17, 1900. He was arrested in San Jose, Malino, Mexico on June 19, 1900. He was exile in Guam and died on September 1, 1901. Original written up on Pampangas Capitol in the old Tagalog terms: Heneral ng himagsikan, kagawad ng kongreso ng Malolos at makabayan. Ipinanganak sa Parian, Mexico, Pampanga noong May 9, 1870. Umanib sa katipunan 1896. Dinakip at ipinatapon sa Jolo nang matuklasan ang lihim na samahan noong Agosto 19, 1896. Pinalaya pagkaraang lagdaan ang kasunduan sa Biak-na-Bato.  Hinirang na komandante heneral ng Pampanga at pagkaraan brigadier heneral 1898. Hinirang na kinatawan ng lalawigan ng Sorsogon sa kongreso ng Malolos naging kilala sa madugong labanan sa caloocan noong Pebrero 23, 1899, at sa mga pagsalakaz sa mga pangkat ng Amerikano hindi lamang sa Pampanga kungdi sa Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac at Pangasinan. Nasugatan sa labanan sa malapit sa Porac, noong Enero 17, 1900.  Nabihag sa San Jose, Malino Mexico noong Hunyo 19, 1900. Ipinatapon sa Guam na pook na kanyang kinamatayan noong Setyembre 1, 1901.
