  Magalang - a town in Pampanga
  People say that the first settlers are migrants from Indonesia called “Magaleng”. The Village name 
  does not stand in any relation to Magellan (Spanish explorer of the Philippines) Town is located at 
  the foot of Mt. Arayat. It is known for its creaminess delicacies made from Carabao’s milk in 
  particular the “pastillas de leche”.  The home of the agricultural based state college which is the 
  Pampanga Agricultural College nestled on the foothill of Mt. Arayat.  Due to the eruption of Mt. 
  Pinatubo most of the small scale industries in poultry, piggery and fish ponds moved in Magalang.  
  Heritage houses along the streets were maintained as a proof of the oldness of the town. The seat 
  of one of the oldest church in the country the San Bartolome Parish built in 1605, the façade and 
  walls are still of its original design.
